MICROBIAL SYNTHESIS OF A GLYCOSIDASE INHIBITOR

Dmitry Kulev, Natalia Sharova

Resumen

Effect of inhibitors synthesized by the strains of Streptomyces violaceus VKM  Ac-1734 and Streptomyces lucensis VKM Аc-1743 on amylases of divers origin was studied. It was found that the inhibitors have a different influence over fungal, pancreatic and human blood amylases. It is established that the inhibitors under study are substances of a pseudo-oligosaccharide nature and are active and stable over a wide pH and temperature range. Physicochemical and biochemical properties of the isolated inhibitors were compared with the known microbial α-glucosidases inhibitors. A hypoglycemic effect was established in laboratory rats.
